Intro
A brand identity is more than a logo. It's the way a company looks, speaks and feels everywhere it appears, from a website to a shipping box to a single Instagram post. When it's done well, you recognize the brand before you read its name. But how does a brand identity actually get made? At The Corner & Co., we follow the same process for every brand we build, whether it's a luxury baby products line or an established Italian company. Here are the seven steps we take, what happens in each one, how long it takes, and what you'll need to bring to the table.

What Is a Brand Identity?
A brand identity is the complete visual and verbal system a business uses to present itself. It includes the logo, but also the color palette, typography, imagery style, graphic elements and tone of voice, plus the rules that hold them together. Think of the logo as a signature and the brand identity as the whole handwriting. A logo alone can't carry a brand across a website, packaging, social media and advertising. A system can. That's why a good identity process starts long before anyone opens a design tool, and ends with guidelines that let the brand keep growing without losing itself.
